Taiwan Trip - Part 8

So here I am, continuing my never-ending Taiwan trip blog...

After leaving Taipei, we landed ourselves at Fong Jia, which is somewhere in the middle part of Taiwan. The main reason we pick this place to spend our night is that there's a pretty big night market (again) close by that are quite famous.

By the way, I didn't know Proton made TV, and even got exported all the way to Taiwan, lol...

As usual, the place is filled with people even it's open for 7 days a week.

Food hunting as usual, we just go for shops with many people queuing up lol. Here's one of them, some hot-dog inside a hot-dog stuff.

This one was quite famous too, a bear-bear palm bun. The meat inside is fried, but the bun outside is steamed, so u roughly can guess the taste :)

Some really cheap and really long ice cream. McDonald would feel so bad if this shop is next to them. Well for the taste, it is not sweet at all, u feel like biting a ice-blended milk...

All I can say is that, this shop will get instantly shut down in Malaysia the moment it starts its business...

No, I don't want to comment on Desmond's face when eating the thing (yeah he actually went to buy it).

We found a pretty interesting place, a shop that sells paper product. From paper bird to paper lantern to paper chair to paper power! Though the shop is small, but we spent the rest of the night time we had there since we can't really get to see these in Malaysia. God someone import that shop here please!

I don't want to imagine my whole room made out of paper. One spark of fire could spell doom to me. However it's pretty cool to have one right?

Taiwan Trip - Part 7

Before I start writing, let me apologize from a long pause between the Taiwan series as I'm having a busy time to get used to the working life... I'll try to squeeze as much time possible to finish the whole trip (right now it's only half way done, FML).

Here's our last station before leaving Taipei and venture into other parts of Taiwan. Of all the places, the Taipei zoo. Why do I say in such a way? I'll explain it later~

The panda stadium right after the entrance. They sure build a frigging big building just to hold 2 panda and a huge panda souvenir shop. Too bad the panda was too far away from us, couldn't get a good picture (the picture captured there are after maximum zoom, blur right).

Some usual animals that you can find on any other zoo. One thing I dun like about Taipei zoo is that they put their anime kilometers away from the visitor, unless the animals are exceptionally large, else you'll need a binocular to see the animal at the size of.. a ring?

Let alone about interacting with the animals... I wana ride on zebra :(

Here's another place that are quite interesting, the penguin house. Due to the hot weather, we were hunting this place in the zoo map just to hide inside it.

Penguins are cute, of course :) They reminds me of Pn. Wong back in form 6.

The bear with the head alone as big as the your washing basin. Well they do look kinda adorable, when they are not treating u as their meal.

P/S: The hell they seriously need to upgrade their glasses to some anti-reflection glass, my camera couldn't take any good shop at animal behind the glass!

The kaola (which I have no idea why it pronounce as kua-la instead of kao-la). Just being lazy as they are, staying on the tree and let you have all the shooting fun.

Taiwan Trip - Part 6

Went to Shi Lin night market, one of the very famous night market in Taiwan. It is so huge that it eats your leg to just walk from the beginning to the end.

Here's something very rare compared to the night market here, where the night market there have stalls for all sorts of mini games, from shooting, archery, ring-hooking, cards, etc. Winner gets a price, loser gets to pay.

Even the night market is darn huge, the streets are still filled with all the people...

"The Nameless Shop" is the shop name, guess what's selling inside? (I've totally forget whats selling there though, hahaha...)

For a guy like myself, shopping isn't really my aim and I could play those mini games in arcade anytime, so the work of the night would be FOOD HUNTING! We've picked a few introduced shop from the traveler's guide, and the first stop is this Taiwan Ba Kut Teh alike shop.

I know they looks like Ba Kut Teh, but they taste different in their own way. The only conclusion can be made is that it is tasty! We've even drank the whole bowl of soup.

The original XXXL chicken chop from Shi Lin! Finally I get to taste it... Though it taste about the same here T_T

Well I guess all fried stuff taste about the same, and they use about the same spice too, oh well...

Another very famous stuff here, the Cheesy Potato. Well, as its name imply, it's just potato with cheese, any cheese fans must-have!

Taiwan Trip - Part 5

The next day morning, the plan is to go to Jiu Fen. The boss decided to go by using train (instead of bus) to experience the trains in Taiwan. The train ride is awesome, it has wifi in it and time flies when I was browsing the internet in the train! We arrive at Ruifang Station, then change to bus to go Jiu Fen.

And finally here we are, Jiu Fen the shopping heaven for the local merchandise.

Seriously, you can find all sorts of stuffs here. Here's where I got most of the souvenirs for the friends and family. Some of the shops are identical, but most of them are unique in their own way so you can really spend all day walking in this street!

Grill GIGANTIC mushroom, taste like grill chicken... Well at least they are something better than the stinky taufu.

Not only that you can do lots of shopping and eating here, there's some pretty awesome view at the end of the streets, where you can see the hills and sea!

We was told that there are some yam balls that are really nice in Jiu Fen, so we bumped into this yam ball shop and ordered a bowl of yam ball. The shop is somewhat translated as 'The Grandma Yam Ball'.

After finishing the bowl, then we've been told that the one we've been eating is not the original one... Ahhh!

Then we went fo find out that the original one was actually 'The Aunty Yam Ball', and there are also more people sitting there to have the yam balls. Got tricked!

The next destination is the Gold Ecological Park, which located very close to Jiu Fen, just a bus ride about 10 minutes.

Heard it was the Japanese who built a gold mine here, so there's many Japanese building around. This one has been refurnished and destinate for attracting tourist.

They redecorated the house to what it should look like back in the old time, when the Japanese are still living inside.

The legendary 'Gold Creature', legend says it can't be seen by normal people, only those with a pure and kind heart are able to see them...

I must say, the old Japanese are enjoying their life to the fullest... What's better than having a house at the high hills and enjoy the scenery every morning?

Cheng cheng cheng~ Venture into the gold mine! Though the air ventilation is good, but there's still water dripping from the roof at time to time...

They placed all these random statues all over the place to show the tourist how the people working in the gold mine looks like, the weird thing is that most of them having the same face...

There's also a Gold Museum here too. Just like any other museum, history and posters *yawn*. Nothing special except the a gigantic gold block below:

Weight 220kg of 99.9% pure gold. Market value worth over 300 million Taiwan Dollar (about RM30m).

Well I guess they are not worried about people stealing the gold bar, after all it is too heavy to be lifted. Apply all the force you can, and it won't move an inch!

Taiwan Trip - Part 4

After visiting Taipei 101, we went to a bookshop nearby. Well not really a bookshop, but it has many floors, and even food court and restaurant.

BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS~~~! Yea I'm a bookworm, I can stay in a bookshop for a day without eating, I admit...

Bought a new book into collection, the new book from Stephen Hawking - translated into mandarin.

When came back out, the sky has changed color. At least we get to see Taipei 101 in the night. But seriously, why green lights? It looks like some bio hazard science research building...

My dinner, have no idea what is it, it's some mixture of egg, noodle, black pepper, and beef...

Taiwan Trip - Part 3

After the MRT ride, we begin long search for lunch in Taipei. After some searching, we've decided to settle it in a noodle shop nearby the MRT station and ordered some beef noodle (apparently beef noodle is all they can offer, just different soup inside).

Well I'm not sure that I'm just hungry of the stuff is really nice, but it was a great meal.

Owh and I missed some interesting facts about Taiwan drinks, they all have these 'sealed' packaging on the top which extremely nice for moving the drinks around without worrying it getting spilled.

Another thing is that some of the plastic topping have some lame quiz on it, which actually gave us a pretty good laugh at it.

So after the lunch we arrived at our next destination, the memorial monument of Sun Yat-sen. Apparently the size of monument is much smaller than the previous Jiang Jie Shi memorial monument we visited earlier. Maybe the Taiwan people are not a better fan of Sun Yat-sen?

More standing soldier here. With some luck, we manage to see the process of they swapping the soldier (which took 10 long minutes). Recorded the whole process down, couldn't feel my arms after recording the whole process...

Allow me to warn you, the video is frigging long... and you may yawn...

If you've watched the ~~long and boring~~ video, I went to check out the floor where they stand and - they really whack so hard that the floor cracks a hole!

Me and Mr.Sun! An honorable man he is, fighting his whole life for awakening the people to fight for liberty.

There's a mini museum in the monument, describing the histories of this great man.

Moving towards the next station, Taipei 101 tower. Since most of the buildings in Taiwan are not very tall, therefore it makes the Taipei 101 tower looks very 'outstandingly' tall.

The shopping mall below the tower, just another ordinary high class shopping mall, where thing things are just for your eye, not for your wallet.

The entrance to go up the tower for visiting (located at floor 89). Gosh long queue!

The entrance ticket, cost 400 bucks (which is about 40 Ringgit here), frigging expensive imo, but since reach here already, might as well get in (and most of us regretted paying the 400 bucks later on).

This thing will be the tour guide when you're up there. There are many numbered pillars on the floor, so poke the numbers on the pillar where you standing and the machine will tell you what buildings you can see and some background of it.

The four direction, along with the other great buildings at these directions (of course you can't see them, the earth ain't flat).

Seriously, there's no 'special' views up there except buildings and hills. Talking about awesomeness, I think Google Earth did better.

The elevator that brought us up there, apparently it is the fastest elevator around (for the record), able to reach the speed of about 1km/min which is about 60km/hr, fast indeed.

The big ball that keeps the building structure stable, and absorb shakes when earthquakes. The ball is claimed to be the world's only stabilizing ball that open to public for viewing.

They've even made a cartoon version of the ball...

By the way, all the stuffs above are in the 89th floor, to return to the ground floor, the visitors need to go through 88th floor and take the elevator there to go down. The 88th floor are named the 'Ju Bao Lou' （聚宝楼）which literally translate as 'wealth-collector-floor'.

Well since they named it this way, of course you expect many expensive gems and stones lying around. However stuffs like this seems to be less attractive to students like myself, which actually yawn the way through all the shining stones.

Taiwan Trip - Part 2

Seriously man, nothing better than starting the day with a pork burger from McDonald. These things are stuff you can never get in Malaysia (even Singapore), is a must-try!

Apparently there's a memorial park nearby where we stay, and the park is in the middle of our destination in the morning. So we took a 'morning walk' through the park while snapping some photo.

Although it's just a usual memorial park, but they did good maintenance on it and keeping it in a good shape. There's a central memorial 'structure' there that looks like some sort of alien base (seriously).

See, I have no idea why they have two hand mold in the middle of the 'structure', looks like if you put you hands there it will activate some ancient alien technology stuff and the stones will start to shine (starts to run wild in fantasy).

History of the park, never really bothered reading them, I'm bad with lengthy historic stuffs...

Continued our journey. Some Taiwan roads are frigging wide (about 8-12 lanes). You can imagine crossing them is such a scary experience, like 20 vehicle lined up stares at you and wait you to cross the road... PRESSURE!

And finally we reached our destination, 自由广场 (which literally translated as the "Freedom Square"). By the way, this place is damn frigging big, about 4 football field I think. From what I heard is this place is the place where the big ceremony are held.

The blue building is the Jiang Jie Shi memorial monument, the red building on the right is the national theater, and I'm not sure what's the red building on the left (didn't really went near that, but I guess is some museum).

We was in luck to see some army marching around when we reached! Though it was already finishing when we reached, but still something to see.

Snapping some photo again. All the structure here are frigging huge, as if a titan was living here...

Moving towards the Jiang Jie Shi memorial monument. He was known as the person who liberated Taiwan from China (from what I heard). The statue is about 5-story tall at least, so you can imagine how huge is it...

The living-not-moving-standing-soldier. They stand so still that I think they don't even blink their eye!

Apparently there are a paint museum in the building too, but I have no idea what most of the painting were drawing, except a few. Yeah, at least I know the paint on the right was drawing a tree, golden one.

Not only paint museum, there's also a museum for mister Jiang Jie Shi himself, including a car he had been using when he's alive, and they recreated his office (the person sitting there is the wax portrait of Jiang Jie Shi).

There are also several documents and stuffs, the usual museum stuffs lah, too many to be mentioned one by one.

After all the long walk in the museum and all the places, time to move back to next destination, while looking for food there. Taipei MRT has awesomely confusing road signs, could lead people to Holland if not look carefully!

However, it seems like they decorated their MRT stations pretty well, with all the beautiful words and stuffs. If you are not in a hurry, take a stop and read them, some of them are really meaningful!

How I wish Malaysia have something like this, but I doubt it would get vandalized within a week upon putting on the wall... Sign...

Taiwan Trip - Part 1

The long waited Taiwan trip has finally been 'executed' nicely. Now it's time to do the blogging. But considering there are over 700-800 photos taken during the trip, I guess it will take quite some time to talk about the whole experience. Thus I'm breaking the trip into several parts, with each part representing each day in Taiwan (hopefully).

The dudes and the babes.

Our accommodation for the first few days in Taipei, where the location, environment, and facilities are the best (except the entrance - don't ask why). The location is in the middle of Xi Men Ding, any shops right below the place, and even a night market in the night!

Checking the money to be burned in Taiwan. If it's Indonesia I'm sure we are all millionaire! Wahahaha...

The busy Xi Men Ding streets. We went food hunting around after we've settle down. There are too many restaurant nearby and we have a limited stomach capacity. So we decided to walk around and order all the small dishes food to eat.

Our first stop in the food hunt, a random restaurant in Xi Men Ding (no time to be picky, we're darn hungry that time).

Some of the Taiwan food recommended by the boss, 卤肉饭 (pork braised rice) and some vegetable and a plate of sweet Char-Xiu (yea, they are damn sweet).

Went into another restaurant, this time we ordered 蚵仔煎 (fried oyster with egg - literally) and some 芋头糕 (yam cake - I think, I'm bad in translating food names). The 芋头糕 is again, darn frigging sweet due to the sauce...

And yea, the toilets here are called 化妆室 (which is the room for make-up). Doesn't matter you are a babe or a dude, they just name it 女化妆室 and 男化妆室 - which sounds SO wrong.

Xi Men Ding Streets in the night, where all the lights are on, and all the night stalls start rolling in. There are even some street performance going around!

The very famous Taiwan 珍珠奶茶 (which rumored to be poisoned by the bad supplier). Notice the plastic seal above the drink? Almost all the drinks in Taiwan are served in that form, where they prepare the drinks, then seal the mouth using a machine. When you want to drink, just poke a straw through the plastic.

Pop Quiz: What is 粉圆 means? (highlight to see the answer "the 珍珠 in the 珍珠奶茶")

After all the food hunting, we went to the nearest temple (龙山寺) to pray for some good fortune. Apparently the locals tell us that the temple have hundred years of history, and very "strong"!

I figured it wouldn't be very nice to take photo in the temple when people are chanting their prayers, so I just snap a few outside here and there. One thing worth mentioning is there are REALLY A LOT OF PEOPLE!

After the pray-pray in the temple, we went for another round of food hunting near the temple. Night streets seems to be everywhere in Taiwan!

I could consider I'm done at my university life, things coming should be getting a fine work and accumulating happiness.

End of One, Start of Another One

I guess it's time for me to report something here, else I would have almost forgotten I have a blog in my backyard (and I blame Facebook for this).

Anyway, my recent life has been boring. Mostly regarding thesis, final exams, eat, and sleep. Well maybe some date here and there but that's not on the discussion here. So...

I've been on zombie mode for some time... I know...
Anyway, the test is over for now. Whats coming next would be my FYP expedition, technical paper, and I can officially say goodbye to UPM, and move to the next stage of life, looking for a job.

So yea, I guess my privilege as a student with no income going to end soon :(

About looking for job, basically I've shortlisted a few company, each with their pros and cons. Guess I need to consult the people around me before making decision... Yea I tends to be picky when I've given some choice, I know I'm bad but I just can't help it~

To remind myself, I think my next post will be on my choices available, and some thinking about the choices. Hope I made the best decision though.

Let's cut the long story short.

I'm driving happily going back to my home. Then this frigging Red Kancil (suspect sleeping or having pills), bang the divider and his car went HORIZONTAL in front of me. I emergency break. Then I have no idea why a frigging lorry is in the FAST LANE, and couldn't break on time, bang my back.

My car went pin ball bouncing and ended like this.

My first experience doing reports on the police station. I'm not sure is a good experience or not, but I don't want to go there again...

God save me, I'm glad I'm still alive here.

Most Expensive Show - Ever

If you want to feel rich, get this.

Gold class ticket from GSC in Midvalley the Gardens. Not that I really spent money to buy it, I got some voucher from my very kind sister to allow me to experience how gold class movie looks like.

Well, inside you get a blanket, a chair that you can adjust from sitting to sleeping position, a pillow for hug, and a table to put your stuff. There's also a complementary drink to choose form soft drinks to tea and coffee. You don't need to carry the drinks into the hall, the people will bring right to your seat :)

What surprise me is that, there's about 10 people in the hall. Who say gold class have no business?

Nuclear Reactor

There are many arguments on this topic recently, mostly surrounding "to build, or not to build" question, especially when the reactor in Japan went out of control after the earthquake and tsunami strikes.

As an Investment
Well, let's not look at the bad part yet (such as nuclear waste, radiation, etc). Among many types of power generator (solar, wind, tidal, etc), it turns out that nuclear reactor has the highest return based on initial investment. Also, surprisingly solar power generator is giving a pretty bad return on investment. In another word, when you want to use the minimal money to make maximum electricity, nuclear reactor is the choice (and selling the electricity basically means money).

That is also why, nuclear reactors are build one after another in the whole world, because they are the cheapest way out for electricity.

Technology Required
To build a nuclear reactor is not like baking a cake, even Albert Einstein, the person who build the famous formula E=mc² once said that it is impossible to extract the nuclear power from the atom (he was right for some time, until World War 2 where tons of research were done to build the atom bomb).

Well, nuclear reactor are based on nuclear physics, which based on quantum mechanics. The fact is, quantum mechanics is not something everyone can understand easily.

Nuclear Reactor in Malaysia
Now, let's 'try' to build a nuclear reactor in Malaysia. The first problem come into the mind is - nuclear physic experts. From what I know:

There are no courses for 'nuclear physics' or 'quantum mechanics' in the local universities.
I can hardly find any books regarding 'nuclear physics' or 'quantum mechanics' in the local bookstore.
There is nobody I know that have any interest in this field.

So what does this means? This means the basic knowledge for Malaysia to build a nuclear reactor is at ZERO.

Well some may said "if we don't have any experts, then we just import them!". Yeah right, you're being so naive. Don't forget money matters all, if you were to import experts from outside, get ready to pay them a sum that make them 'interested' to work for you. And this just violates what I said in the early part - nuclear power is cheap. By hiring expert from outside, you're making the investment having way lesser return, and thus investor won't be interested in building a nuclear reactor, and in the end? Government pay for it? Using the money tax from your pocket?

To Start Things Up
Building a nuclear reactor is indeed the economical way out for energy crisis, provided you do it correctly. If the people above are really interested to do so, please, at least start by building some nuclear physics courses in the tertiary education, sending people who capable outstation to do research and learn (WARNING: NOT sending some ~~idiotic minister~~ people to go visiting other country's nuclear reactor).

So, having enough local experts in nuclear physics takes 10 years. Sending the experts to learn from other country takes another 5 years. Planning and building your own reactor takes 5 years. Handling people who protest against the construction expect a delay of 5 years. So I won't be agreeing building a nuclear reactor in Malaysia for another 25 years time, until I see Malaysia are truly capable of doing so. Now it's just a dream.

If you expect to throw bunch of tax payer's money to hire bunch of people from outside to build a nuclear reactor, I certainly hope you do not ended up building a nuclear bomb in your own country.

P/S: Yes I admit I'm a nerd that enjoy reading difficult stuff such as nuclear physics and quantum mechanics...

Memory
Woman - 8TB hard disk with 15,000 rpm.
Man - Only DRAM is found, refreshes whenever it is powered off. Capacity is limited, information overloading results in memory dump and blue screen.

Network Speed
Woman - Extremely fast.
Man - Depends on type of information that is transferring, sometimes stops completely when transferring works to do.

Application Installed
Woman - Movies, drama, work, horoscope, all sort of things you can think of.
Man - Games and you-know-what.

It's My Belated Day

It's My Day

Officially 24th now, birthday wishes starts to sway between 'growing big' and 'getting old', which sooner or later going to be the latter.

Anyway, want to thank my dear for taking one day leave to accompany me on today. Went watching 'I am Number 4', using my sister's premier voucher. The show is not bad, considering there aren't any better show recently (and 'King's speech' is not my type of movie, so no, I don't care those Oscar judges love it).

Decided to went high class today, so we had our lunch in Sushi Zanmai.

My birthday present, where the box outside and the gift inside have no relation entirely *faint*.

And this is my cake of the day, a mango cheese cake from Delicious. The cake is not bad actually, but I guess it don't mix well with the sushi we had earlier =/

Lesson of the day - Don't mix Japanese food with western food, it spoils the latter.

Been rotting through my December holiday, thus resulting the rotting of my blog too. But worry not, I'm back :)

As usual, my sister's house is having a Christmas eve party, lots of people and lots of food. Kids been swallowed by technological gadgets, no more running and screaming around, but silently facing the computer.

The Dying Blogsphere

Well, I had a list of friends (on the right side of my blog) that owns a blog. The list used to be pretty hot, I get to read a new blog post at least once a day. The word "1 week ago" can hardly appear on my top 5 latest post. But now, the people remains blogging can be counted with one hand, "1 month ago" could appear in the near future.

Sad lah.

It's like watching a busy pasar malam closing down. The reason of the reduced blog post are normally as below:
- No time
- No material on what to blog
- Lazy
- Bored and quit blogging

For me, there is middle of somewhere that I did stopped for some time, mainly due to the boring life and the laziness. But luckily I managed to return after the slumbers.

Well, I can't point a gun at people's head and ask them to blog right? But it's just plain sad to see the blogsphere dying around.

Just hoping myself not being the last one standing lah.

Well, I just realize that I haven't been sharing some music stuffs, since the Midnight Maple back in 2008 (yeah I do share musics people, and apparently able to differentiate between good and bad ones).

Well then, the guy is handsome, the girl is awesome, and their voice is excellence. Enjoy~

Review: Skyline

Initially, when I saw the poster above and the trailer in YouTube, the show was looking quite promising, a sci-fi fan such as myself wouldn't miss it for sure... until I watched the movie.

I thought 2012 was bad, but this is WORST. I am very very disappointed.

Well I don't care about being a spoiler in this blog post for this show, it really don't worth watching. The best part of the movie are all in the trailer. If you've watch the trailer, it is as good as you watched the whole movie. (But the trailer doesn't have an ending!) Don't worry, there is no ending for the movie anyway.

There are so many things in the movie that makes not sense:
- A security camera installed in a condominium could lock down an fighter jet flying at 500km/hr like locking down a football in a football match.
- A condominium experience a nuclear explosion nearby and it is unharmed, without a single piece of glass breaking off.
- You hide behind a sheet of cotton and the alien can't detect you. Apparently the alien that travel through the vast universe has not discovered X-rays.
- Human brain seems to power a gigantic floating alien mothership, I didn't know our brain (which get energy from dead animals and plants) have more energy than a nuclear reactor.
- The analogy for this movie is like you go dig up an ant-hill, plug the ant heads off to make a reactor to power a whole city. Sounds funny? That's what the movie about!
- An alien survived a nuclear blast got killed by human fist.

And the epic failures in the movie:
- The flying tentacle sentries are obviously copied from Matrix.
- The brain-battery idea are also obviously copied from Matrix.
- The brain that don't follow the order and remains self control are damn obviously copied from Matrix (Neo the One).
- The sound and effects are so StarCraft-Protoss. I won't surprise if I heard "Entaro-Adun!" in the middle of somewhere.

My rating for the show: 3/10 [EPIC FAIL]
My recommendation: Save your money for cartoons like MegaMind, ToyStory, or DespicableMe are way more cost effective than watching this crap.

A Famosa @ Malacca

Well, it has been a while since I last visited this place. That time I think this blog haven't born yet (yeah, the ugly me from the distant past).

Indoor coconut trees, cool yeah? The small patch of blue thing behind is the big wave pool, said to make people dizzy and throw out.

Photo with signboard, apparently almost everyone does that, including us lah. The bath room here are scary, as there's only a piece of cloth covering the action inside, and the cloth don't cover up everything! People still can see (if they want to) at a hole about 5cm wide.

Basically you could just image bathing in public...

The sliding fut-futs (we called it that way). The left one is the smaller fut-futs, 1-2 person each time; the right one is the family fut-fut, 3-5 person each time. The person in charge there jump into our boat and make us scream like mad because he go make the boat goes 90 degree when going down *faints*.

The lazy river, the place to go when you are tired after all the activity, just float there and pretend to be a floating corpse.

After all the water fun we went stop by at Foon's grandmother's place. Apparently everyone got some free banana and a pack of drink for visiting, kind people indeed lol~

In the night, we went into Malacca town for some layered cake that introduced by Joel. Was sitting beside a huge mirror so might as well as take some picture lah :)

Oh ya, Foon's sister was tagging along for going back to Selangor home for some studying.

The tasty layered cake and the environment. The cake are pretty nice, I heard it was from Japan (not sure the cake itself or the people who made the cake learned it from Japan), definitely worth a try la :) The shop is just opposite Dataran Pahlawan, very near to the Old Town White Coffee.

The dinner of the day, the good old chicken rice shop below the chicken house (try guessing what this means).

Apparently it wasn't as delicious as I tried it last time, maybe my stomach is full this time, with the attendance of an ulcer in my mouth just kills my appetite, damn.

Well, that makes an one day water park trip in Malacca, 2 days before my final exam. The sun burn on my skin still showing its effect when I'm in the exam hall 2 days later, awesome!

P/S: Yeah this blog post was delayed by about a week due to the busy final exam, but later is better than never right :)

Friends

You know what, if there's something in this world that you can't live without, it ain't money, it is friends. There are just some topics that are not suitable for family and your other half, friends are great listener.

It doesn't matter what problem you are facing, when it is about time you get saturated, get some friends out and have a tea somewhere, it helps darn a lot (for me at least).

Guess I can stop here for now la, later I scare people feel geli if I wrote too much~ Just want to thank some of my friends that pull out when I asked for some drinks :)

Low EQ

Yes, I admit that I'm a person with darn low EQ. My emotion reflects directly onto my face when I'm not feeling right, and I can't help it.

Worst part is that when I'm not feeling right, it not only reflects on the face, but also my words grow spike, hurting people around (and felt terribly bad after that).

Sometimes looking at the mirror, it felt like looking at a spoiled brat, a type of person that I don't like, and it is myself. In short - it felt like shit.

Enough of crap, better find myself some meaningful things to do before emotion collapses me.

Apparently my sister are having a same problem, which also happen to be a Dell laptop too; which make both of us conclude that: Dell laptop have serious display problem, when the warranty expires.

The One Should Not Stuck at One Place

There was a phrase that caught my attention that day: "The only thing that is not changing is the fact that everything else is changing", and I'm quite agree with what it says.

For myself, I just can't stand myself repeating the same stuff for too long, no matter how interesting it is. For example, I once thought a game is so nice to play with and could never get bored at it, and in the end I'm bored out of the game.

My recent university life was not to said boring, but it is too plain. Nothing big coming up, everyday job is repeating the same cycle. People around keep complaining too busy and lack of time to do stuff... Well I don't know, I felt the busy life as a part of the plain daily routine as well.

So all these make me feel that I can't take a routine job in the future, I could rot and die out of boredom, which is a problem as all fresh graduate will do (normally) would go for a routine work for safety. If that's the case, what should I look for?

Some project based work would do just fine, as the environment changes as the project switches. It could be better that I could be my own boss (dreaming), so that I could control the things the way I want it to be (continue dreaming).

Hoe the coming holiday I could sort out something to work on to plan for something that could lead me to something I want la, amithaba...

And finally, all the statement above does not apply to the loved one of course :)

Balancing the Unbalanced

It has been a while since I've been ranting here, actually there is so many things in my mind to be vomited out, but just can't get started (mainly due to laziness and sensitive people around me - you know what I mean).

Well, someone been telling that my blog has gone boring, and I'm surprise that my blog was even interesting before to begin with :) Sorry I've let some of the reader down but I'll try do my best to compensate what's been lost in my blog ya.

Well that was a long introduction, let me get into the main title now...

I'm sure many many of us has been running into this question of balancing, between achievements and friendship. One of the typical example is that doing something that people around you don't usually do, and performing better. Don't understand? What I mean is being more hardworking than rest of the people.

What's the problem with that? Big problem.

You see, from what I experienced is that achievement and friendship are enemy that fights to the death, for most of the cases except some special one. Higher the achievement, greater solitude you get.

Still don't get it? Well people tends to stay in a group with the same level, you climb too high people isolate you. This does not only apply to my current university life, but I'm sure it is more "severe" in working life.

You did too well, people say you're cocky, your did on normal peace, your heart tells you that "you could do better than that", which you could, and you feel suppressed because of keeping in peace with others.

So, you might ended up as a cocky person (said by other people), or just-another-random-normal-person. I don't like both result, and therefore keeping the balance between the two. Being humble with great achievements is totally a lie, nobody can achieve that (I'm quite sure of that).

Life's hard, and it reminds me an old quote of mine - To wish life to be fair, you better wait for earth to be square.

Meet Lucky (name given from my dad, I'm not sure it's final or not), the new puppy adopted in my house, as the current dog (Koffi) is so failed as a guard dog.

As you can see in the picture, it's plain black (so you can't name it mocha, cappuccino, or frappuccino. It just don't suit!). This poor thing suffered a bath and meefon eating for the ~~stupid~~ maid... Gwar...

Later I tried for a second shot with flash turns on, but this naughty fella just can't sit still for me to take a good shot!

This little thing is just so noisy (wants to get out), and just ~~very~~ hyper active for a 2 months old dog! Hope I can get a clearer shot later (with someone help me to hold him still).

Hope he could be a good guard dog la, else Mailo gotta be sad in the heaven :)

Today got an email from Nuffnang (which I've almost forgotten that I'm one of the member) saying:

And I found this pretty hilarious... As it somehow reminds me that I'm a Nuffnanger, instead of warning me of click fraud abuse.

As I said earlier, I've almost forgotten I'm one of the Nuffnangers since Project Alpha has ended. The main reason is that:
- I don't really care about income from my blog now as it was so little.
- My blog have a poor visitor count (don't really care either).
- I could categorize Nuffnang ads with panda and Orang Utan - Closing to extinction and rarely seen by human being!

Just what the $%# man, your god damn ads rarely pops out and you warning me about click fraud now!

And thanks to Nuffnang, I somewhat get to make a post out of nothing from my current boring life (eat, sleep, study, exam).

With BBQ We Serve

Don't ask about the title, it was the big miao's idea for the event name :)

Location: Residents of the CCSE gang.

A few of us trying to start up the fire :)

Then dunno why more and more people come to help (even the place was darn crowded already), I guess guys likes to play with fire after all lol.

Goo setting up another pit for cooking the vegetarian food, with idea of utilizing modern technology (electric fan) instead of the classic way (hand fan).

And it works pretty well :)

The kitchen group, preparing some other food that can't throw into the BBQ pit.

This is (not) the production from the kitchen team :) Scare anyone can't have enough of food so we ordered a special delivery.

The things that (can) thrown into the BBQ pit :) The chicken wings are a big success!

There's a saying about "when there is God Yeo, there's always poker at your service".

And they can grow in number easily after a while.

Laptop bags, well you know what is it for right?

And finally the ~~burning~~ baking started! The lower photo looks like 3 knights crossing sword for some oath or something, except they sword looks... creative!

Though the house is not very big, but it can fit 20+ people eating together with no problem! There's enough fork and spoon so that nobody will experience starvation :D

And more people going for second round of baking. In the middle we give a phone call to the poor Kok Seng who was hospitalized due to some lung infection. Wish him recover quickly la!

Oh ya, we did a surprise birthday party for Desmond, and celebrated Hoay Yan and Kok Yeong's one along (actually just singing for them~) :)

What ingredient you'll need:
- Minix3 (Duh)
- FileZilla FTP Client (Download)

Setups:
- Install FileZilla.
- Set a password for your root in Minix3.

- in Minix3, type the following code:
# cd /etc
# cp rc.daemons.dist rc.daemons
# reboot

- After Minix3 reboot, type ifconfig and you should see something like:
/dev/ip: address 192.xxx.xxx.xxx netmask...

- Start FileZilla.
- For Host: Copy the ftp address (192.xxx.xxx.xxx) here.
- For UserName: Enter root.
- For Password: Place your root password you set earlier.
- For Port: Leave it blank.

- Click "Quickconnect" button, and you are there!
- If this don't work, format your Minix and try again :)

Booting with new kernel code
So you did some modification in Minix3's kernel code and want to try try out your new code.

Setups:
- Type the following stuff:
# cd /usr/src/tools
# make clean
# make hdboot

- This usually take a while, so you can have your coffee now.
- After the system build the new booting image (assuming nothing goes wrong), type shutdown in your Minix3.
- Then you will bring to another window. Type following code to show all your booting image:
> ls /boot/image

- The new booting image should looks something like 3.1.7rx, where the x changing depending how many time you build your booting image with hdboot.
- Pick the x with the largest number (e.g. 0,1,2,3...).
- Type the follwing (remember to replace the 'x' with the appropriate value):
> func(3,MnxMod){image=/boot/image/3.1.7rx;boot;}
> menu
> 3

- And thus, your Minix3 is now booting with your new modified kernel code.

Well, bought a printer with scanner, so was testing with its scanner with my old drawing back in secondary. It turns out that some of the parts are very light (pencil colour faded over long time) and requires some brightness adjustment.

Well, watching a movie alone ain't so bad after all, especially this one that requires you to have full concentration to have a better understanding of the show.

We all know that we only used 10% of our brain, the remaining 90% remains a mystery that becomes a good idea for all the book authors and script writers, such as utilizing the full brain power you get some magic power, some deep conciousness stuff, etc.

Matrix have 2 worlds and we all went confused about it, now this one giving us 4 world, which makes the effect double. Anyway, not a bad show, definitely worth watching.

P/S: I'll assume I didn't saw the last scene, as I prefer it ends in the normal way without having all the question marks around...

Crazy Neighbour, Poor Bees

Yesterday night, I have some crazy neighbour going rock and roll whole night long, not only disturbing the neighbourhood, but also the mother nature - bees.

I guess these bees are getting restless due to the noise and start flying out in the night, then my room have the lights on and they must thought it is the sunlight then start slamming to the light. After slamming for a while, all died.

Well, I don't care weather you are having party or a lifetime wedding, but under all the curses of your neighbour and the deaths from the mother nature, I sincerely don't wish you good luck lorh.

Malacca Trip

Oh yeah ladies and gentleman, prepare for an extremely long blog post coming up! The Malacca trip with me, dear, Thean, Foon, and a very special person that *first time* appear in my blog - Sheow Fong!

Our first stop, lunch at some nyonya restaurant with extremely delicious (and extremely spicy) nyonya food. Each of them cost around RM3.50 to RM4.00, what can I say, CHEAP LAH!

The environment, I wonder how long has those pictures has been hanging up there without anyone even touching them. Spider webs and dust is all over, getting near and prepare tissue for big sneezing!

Durian chendol, things that you can't find better anywhere else other than Melacca :)

The very famous chicken 'rice ball', just walking pass, never went into it, we all agree that we should save the tummy for something better :D

Now days they automate almost anything using machinery, and even display the automating process so that everyone go 'woo' and 'waa' over it (yeah I'm one of it).

Next stop, visiting Zheng He (郑和) Museum, the very famous person that said to sail the largest wood-made ship ever and being one of the earliest explorer in history. Learned two facts about him that I never realize: He's a Muslim and a real eunuch (太监)!

Well I have no idea why a terracotta soldier is placed at the door of Zheng He's museum, without a weapon in his hand. Anyway larh, Joel has gave him a new thing to hold on~

Well, this is not a painting, but real doll displays that showing the busy Malacca street. The guide (yes we have a guide to explain stuffs to us) told us that the position of the dolls tend to move to another place over the night where nobody touches it, Malaysia version of 'Night in the museum"?

Let's hope that the position of the dolls does not move around for this picture too *grins*.

Zheng He's crazy ship fleet, with the largest one are as big as a stadium (they say larh).

The museum also have some room that simulate the rooms inside Zheng He's ship. The above is the medical room, where you can find mahjong and chess inside it (what the...), while the bottom are the place for the pilot to have their sleep.

I'm seriously have no idea why there is this cave-looking tunnel inside a museum...

Some ancient antique they dig out from an ancient well, comes in two package: in one piece or in pieces.

A story telling stage that... the story teller is clearly recorded by a Singaporean...

I personally find this wall damn awesome!

Well, the usual must-go place when visiting Malacca, since this place is like the center of everything, so you can't really miss it. I bet anyone who been to Malacca must've been to these places several times.

Joel is damn upset for missing the Bon Odori, so he say that the Bon Odori fan need to appear in his photo in memory for the great Bon Odori that he missed.

Went to another museum, a ship looking one. 3 bucks of entrance fee, hack load of people, hack little of space to stand.

The fact is, we enjoyed the air-con inside more than the things displayed inside, oh well... It was damn hot outside larh.

Sheow Fong's sister was visiting Malacca at the same time too, met with her a few time and got her to take a few shot of group photo for us :)

Unable to stop self-shocking when a good photo taking location has been found...

Went to Jonker Street, where people mountain people sea gathers (and I have a feeling I keep seeing Najib's face and the 1 Malaysia logo EVERYWHERE, I think they over-promoting this god damn thing larh).

And that ain't the worst part, when Astro actually set a stage in the middle of the street to have some old people singing competition going on. Uncle auntie very happy, but I feel very sweaty lorh...

lTrust me, taking photo in a crowd ain't no easy task, especially to get a good distance before actually even taking a photo.

Some chicken ~~rice~~ mee dinner. The special thing about these mee is that it use herbal soup instead of those ordinary Ajinomoto soup we find in food court. The dishes are all very delicious!

Well... Maybe I was damn hungry that time, can't really chew slowly to enjoy the taste.

After the dinner, we moved on to the pork satay for supper (that start their business in midnight 12am)!

Well, usually we just order and wait for the satay, but here if you order and wait, then you have no hope to get your satay anytime. The fastest way is just cook yourself!

Looks like ordinary satay right? But the texture is completely different... Hard to describe the taste, just simply taste better larh!

The next morning, went for some Hokkien Chao as breakfast... And everyone say this Hokkien Chao does not taste like the usual Hokkien Chao, which I'm not sure is a positive/negative comment, I only know it taste good larh.

And Joel ordered an ABC that as white as snow white, never seen a ABC that so white before right?

Went around the places nearby Foon's grandma place (where we sleep), found a public pool here. since nobody have a swim suit so we just took some photo and left the place.

Then the ending part is the usual thing larh, fetching everyone back to their home and close file for a nice memory!

Internship - Last Day

The days of internship has finally ended, university has started once again, should feel happy? sad? Don't know la, wheels of life continue to roll on.
My office look, the smog is not to protect the hard disk form me, but rather protect me from the cold air-con in the office.

My supervisor a.k.a. department manager treated us an awesome farewell vegetarian lunch. Thank you boss!

Went to a restaurant with only 4 tables, one cook. The dish are all monstrous size, and really delicious too! I guess the only bad thing is the packaging and the location (Pudu Plaza).

How big is this plate? Well imagine a 3 years old kid with a turtle shell, and the plate is the size of the shell.

Looks like just a chicken? Actually it is chicken with some fish below, eating them together never taste so great!

Ipoh Makan-makan Trip - Day 2

After the very filling breakfast, we headed to Kuala Woh for some hot water spring.

A rock giving ceremony for arrival on Kuala Woh, the rock fell right on Foon's leg after taking this photo ._.

Basically that's how the things around look like :)

The place where the hot water are coming out (really hot). Was unable to keep any part of my body in that hot water for more than a few seconds.

By the way, the hot water area are very small, the hot water turn cold after it combines with the river water.

A new species of frog are found in Kuala Woh, anyone interested to dissect him to view what's inside? Hahaha...

Hmm... Foon sure likes to cosplay as froggy, if Disney were to have Princess and the Frog (real life version) I think he'll be a fantastic actor :D

Finally, our last station is at Kampar's duck-leg-mee. The taste are... well basically I don't like ducks in the first place, so better don't comment too much about this =X

Ipoh Makan-makan Trip - Day 1

Last weekend was a memorable one, went a trip to Ipoh with dear, Joel, Foon, and WeiYao.

The departure time was 9am, but as usual, Joel was late. Anyway, the driver of the day is Foon, and the first stop is Tapah, which is the place we'll have our accommodation thanks to Joel's beautiful grandmother :)

The place is called Hotel Timuran, with a coffee shop at the ground floor, and rooms to lend at higher floor.

The check-in key. Though the hotel don't have all those 5-star services, but it's definitely old school, comfortable, and I liked it!

The next stop is Ipoh, appointed driver are Joel; while the appointed passenger are busy syock sendiri with the camera inside the car.

We meet up with MeiTheen, which is dear's roommate and also an Ipoh-lang (means Ipoh locals). Thanks to her we get to save the trouble of finding great food in Ipoh (though her sense of direction have plenty of room to improve, lol)!

Our lunch spot are located under a big tree, they call it 大树下 (under the big tree).

醉虾, which basically means prawn mee. Super duper fuper delicious, not only it is cheap (RM5.00), it have a total of 7 big, juicy, yummy prawn in it!

Ipoh laksa with some fried stuff. Unlike any fried stuff you can find around, the food are so deeply fried until it breaks like a glass when you munch it.

Yeah I know it's unhealthy stuff, but just too delicious lah =.=

And the big fat Joel had all of em! (Just kidding, lol he only have two bowl of it...)

Went to have some dao-fu-fa and some dao-jioung-sui, 80 cent each. Now tell me, can you find such great food at such price in KL?

The weather forecast a thunder storm, and it went real when we don't wish it does. So we decided to hide in Ipoh Parade for some time until the rain stops. The others went for bowling while I choose to walk around the mall (I just don't enjoy rolling my money into the longkang -_-).

After the storm the weather is a good one!

Next station, the Guan-Yin-Dong.

Well I don't know how they import the whole wishing tree from Hong Kong, but it looks good :)

Have no idea why these clay soldier have anything do with GuanYinMa, I guess they were some freebie when importing all those GaunYinMa statue?

Project Alpha: My Sweetheart Smells Like Action 3 Fresh

As I mentioned earlier, we all like good smelling people no matter what. But for this week's Project Alpha's topic, I guess I need to narrow down my scope to just my sweetheart :)

Let's see, there are many variant of Action 3 product from Adidas, such as sensitive, pure, fresh, and a few more. But picking one to match my sweetheart is none other than 'Fresh'.

Why you ask? Well because I feel that every time I meet her, she's always cheerful and kept a smile on her face, which is like a clear water that refreshes all bad stuff from my heart.

Well that's not the only thing, the word 'Fresh' also means something that "newly made, not faded", which just nicely describe my sweetheart. Being with her never made me feel bored, there's always something new we can talk about. Things doesn't seems fading when she's around.

I like the title for this week :) Finally no more football talking (which I have zero interest in it).

This week is about design one of our very own wiggy, so I've came out with this Balloon Wiggy! The bad thing about USB device is that people tends to slam on it when it is too 'standing out'.

Well, since it is already standing out, make it float and more standing out! Not only everyone will go 'Woow...' on the wiggy, it is also a free advertisement that goes everywhere. Also, since it is so standing out, you don't need to worry about people banging on it, just like people wont purposely bang on a column in front of the walking path.

Pretty cool, eh?

Rat Race

For some reason, I see myself being stucked in a rat race of life, and for some reason, I don't wish to ended in that road.

There are actually very few people I know that actually doubted a very simple rule of life: "Go good school, get good marks, go good company". If those were in your mind for the next 20 years, welcome to the rat race :)

Well I'm not saying it's bad to be in the rat race, instead it is the easiest way to live a life, but not for me. Doing the same thing over and over for more than a year would cause my brain to deteriorate to machine level...

It's like a quicksand, the earlier you realize the position you are in, better the chance you can do something to turn the table; else after dropping for some time, one could even give up on struggling.

Like my sister told me before, I shouldn't miss the chances when I have it. Every chances are like a robe, it's up to us to decide pulling it or not. It might be a durian tied on the other end, but there might also be the one that pull us out from the quicksand.

Yeah, can't afford to be ignorance anymore.

Internship - Day 18

Been working in Western Digital for some time now, though there are some task given, but it is still considered flexible. I can say that we can have all our time to complete it :)

There are many interesting stuff going around the office. But I'm not really sure what can bring out and what can't, so better just keep on the low profile.

However there are still something that can be shared for sure:

Had a college that came from Thailand and brought us some sweets (I think) that... seems to works better as a display than a food.

And he has been teaching us some basic stuffs around too, a nice guy :)

Been raining quite frequently when going back home from work. Federal gota be the doom road when you are trying to use it during rainy day.

Thank god the worst part is right after my turning to my home. Nightmare avoided.

Flash: Simple RTS Game

It might take some time to load as the thing are quite big, please wait for a short moment ^^~

This game reminds me of Magic the Gathering, where it looks turn based but not really, strategy and timing are important too :) If this seed were to grow, I think it has limitless possibility for the outcome. Just think about adding more custom spells, custom effects (stun, poison, etc), custom items for hero, custom battle ground...

The only bad thing is - I need an artist for the animations! Some "attacking", "take damage", "dying" animations for the heroes are so needed!

What I personally wish to further this thing into is a new Facebook application :) But problem here is that - I need a server to host the stuffs!

Can't do this alone man, need artist, need sound effect, need server, and need people who interested in it lol~

Alien, Good or Evil?

Most people who know me long enough knew that I'm a science freak (a.k.a. geek), and I'm happy to be one :) Today, some inspiration out of no where gives me the idea for this post about alien. Let the talking begins~

Dr. Michio Kaku categorize alien civilization into few category: Type I, II, and III.

Type I – This civilization harnesses the energy output of an entire planet.
Type II – This civilization harnesses the energy output of a star, and generates about 10 billion times the energy output of a Type I civilization.
Type III – This civilization harnesses the energy output of a galaxy, or about 10 billion time the energy output of a Type II civilization.

**For your info, human civilization is a Type 0
civilization that still stuck with fossil fuels.

In another word, how advance the alien civilization is based on how good are they in sucking the energy in the universe for their own benefit.

According to Prof. Stephen Hawking in this article, he thinks that if alien civilization were to have contact with human, they are very likely to be nomads that depleted their planet's resources and thus looking into our planet's resources, and seeking new resources in our planet.

Let's not think too highly of ourself, what kind of resources that we have, that could attract their attention? Is it oil? gold? uranium? I seriously don't think so.

If I'm an advance enough civilization, the main problem that I could be facing would only be energy crisis, and with my technology, I'm safe to assume that my main source of energy would be nuclear fusion, which is the energy that power up our sun and all the stars in the universe. Where does these power come from? The answer is hydrogen. Do we have hydrogen? Yes, our planet is covered with tons of water that could be convert into hydrogen.

Could that be the reason that alien emptied their hydrogen supply and start to invade our world for hydrogen? The answer is a big NO! Why? Well it's simple, if you compare earth with gas giants such as Jupiter, Neptune, and Uranus, which most of their main component is hydrogen, the hydrogen supply on earth is totally insignificant.

Just think about it, if I'm able to do interstellar space travelling, why would I stop at this tiny planet instead of a gigantic gas giant waiting me nearby?

Well if it is not energy, maybe it's some rare element such as gold or uranium that attract their attention? The answer is yet another NO! This is because the best place to find rare element are the supernova sites - a place where old star burns off their fuel and exploded in a huge explosion. That is the best place where rare elements can be found due to the extreme heat that enables fusion of rare element together.

In short conclusion, earth is just like another rock on the road for advanced alien civilization, they should have no interest in us at all! For their technology, finding an inhabited star for energy harvesting should be a piece of cake. The rare element we have on earth is just grain of sand compared to the mountain of supernova sites.

Allow me to ask, what is the most precious and beautiful thing in the universe? My answer is life itself, and I don't think an advance civilization will prefer to destroy life unless that particular life is endangering other lifeforms.

And that's the only reason I can think of if alien civilization were to have contact with us - to stop us from killing others.

Road Trip with My Broadband

Awh... Another tricky title from Project Alpha, because I'm a person that have once in a million chance to do any road trip, let alone bringing my protable-laptop around for broadband. Boo~

Anyway, maybe in the future, I'll need one of these, as I don't quite like to stay in one place for too long, and road trip is surely one of the way to get myself moving around!

The worst thing about having trips is when you are so eager to share your experience, you have no internet access; then when you have the internet access, your mood faded away.

It always happens, especially long trips.

That's why I skipped some of my trips and thus the reduction of my memorable moments in the blog. Thinking back alone make me go *sigh*.

Having one of these would be nice, I'm not sure about those isolated places like jungle and hill, but having one is surely better than none, at least I can have access to internet at any nearest hotspot.

Internship - Day 1

Yeah, jumping into internship right after my exam, can't have fun at all *booo~*.

Anyway, joined western digital, with a total of 8 of us from the same course went there (can start a hoo-ha party already).

First job of the day - Patience testing.

And uh... Some briefing about this and that larh, wanted to take some photos on the gigantic hard disk bank (lots of $$ if you do the math) but we had been warned that things we see are just for the eyes, all are confidential so I also better don't talk too much about it.

Let's hope the card up there are not within the confidential list.

Well, seems like having a strict but helpful supervisor, and a bunch of new friends to made. Good luck to myself larh~

Flash: More Trial Flash

After my long torturing exams, I finally get to have some time to spend for myself!

I quickly dashed to my Flash CS4 and continued my journey on learning flash. This is my second trial, I was thinking of making some turn based fighting game but for this one, it's far from being done. There is no hit points, no mana points, no enemy AI, no sound; just the skin for now, meats and bone are coming up!

This interface alone took me 2 days to complete. The character sprite was stolen from Maple Story, and the spell sprite are randomly stolen in the internet.

Well, imagine someone you hate and put their face on the mushroom, then do the booming :)

Project Alpha: My Dream Destination

It's exam week, I'm having my hands full with bunch of lame things that I have to memorize, and yet Project Alpha choose such a time to give us surprise for a double instant cash blogging in a week!

Don't know I should feel happy or sad...

Anyway, this time seems like talking about travelling. It seems like MAS is having some traveller's package to travel around (if you have the money, of course).

Well, if only money is not the problem here, I'm more than grateful to visit a few places that been in my head for some time.

China
My mom has always been telling me that if we were going to visit China, you can't visit all the hot spot in your whole life (either you wallet dried up or your life dried up; whichever come first).

Well, as a Chinese myself surely I'll be interested to pay a visit where my grandpa and grandma came from. Ain't a good thing to know more about our roots?

Japan
Yeah baby, if there's a place I must visit in my lifetime then Japan gotta be one of it!

The Japanese culture has always been shining in the international stage, their Fuji mount, sakura blossom, samurai story, and not forgetting their anima and manga. Also they have the most advanced robotic technology in the world, I'm so want to take a look at all these end-of-edge things man!

Europe
To be honest, I don't know much about European countries. And that's the main reason why I want to pay a visit there!

All I know about about them is things people telling me things about how romantic they are, how friendly, how nice, and so on...

Rome is another place in the European countries that I can't miss. The place where all the ancient Gods of the Greek mythology are born, a place filled with mystery from the past and ancient time.

Ahh... I better stop here, else this post gotta be 10 page long and I'm still writing!

For Mailo

Mailo, 14 years old. Been working as the guard dog for Lai family for 15 years (since 1995). The photo was taken in the early days when he is cute and naughty.

The name was give because his face is so alike when the 'Mailo' in the Mask by Jim Carry. Ain't they so alike? Aww...

Until recently, his eye sight start to blur out, hearing sense start to go bad. If we are not careful he might thought we were stranger and give us a bite!

However, his sense for dog food never go bad, immediate come on call when he smells dog food.

Today, you left us to the other world. I didn't took any last photo of him because he wasn't looking too well, and I bet he didn't wish us to see his final moments (the four sisters will cry for him badly).

You earned your long rest here Mailo, the place you like to run around when you were younger. May you watch over us in heavens, and ask gong gong and po po take care of you up there larh :)

Also take a good watch over Koffi to be more brave instead of just having a loud voice only >.<

Project Alpha: My Version of Grooming Tips

Darn, the title from Project Alpha is getting more and more difficult. Now he's asking me - a person who rarely apply any skin product to tell about my grooming tips.

Well, not only Project Alpha, there are already some people asked me this question before, due to my fair skin:

Anyway, my answer to this question for the past 10 years was always the same (yeah, I'm a loyal supporter of this specific brand):

"Use pipe water lorh!"
Serious one! Well I admit that I sometime apply some dunno-what-brand lotion when there are pimples popping out, but usually water is all I use for my skin (no cleanser, no rejuvenator, no special cleaner, no whitening, no nothing).

Well, let me teach you how to apply the thing:
(1) Wake up - Wash face with clean pipe water.
(2) Bathing - Wash face with clean pipe water.
(3) Before going to bed - Wash face with clean pipe water.

By the way, my pipe water don't have diamond filter one, my house just have it recently, but my skin has been with me for the past 23 years :)

Well until recently, where the weather is so unpredictably hot, and I always get sun burn when driving from my university back to my house. I can feel the sun cracking my face!

If the weather continue to behave like 2012 then I guess is time to call some reinforcement instead of just relying on the water liao larh *looking for sponsors to throw me few bottle of these*.

Who know lerh they say that these bottles are so magical that it turn a duck into phoenix, a ugly boy to a handsome gentlemen, a handsome guy to a super star; then I can consider joining the star show in Project Alpha, then become a super star, then make many money, then buy a big house, then buy a nice car, then become big boss...

My First Flash Game

Flash coding (they called it Action Script 3.0 coding) is such a headache for me since it is totally different from what I've been learning (C, C++, vJass). Well, learning programming from "Hello World" is just lame (for me). The best way to get learning is actually to build a whole system (e.g. a game).

But after spending some time on it, finally I have some basic and did a pretty dumb flash game, move your mouse around and start clicking!

Not to forget my teacher here, this site have some great tutorials for flash beginner!

Expect more interesting flash coming :)

What are the Government Thinking?

I seldom comment on what's the government doing (as normally I don't want to get brain damage due to overemotional or getting protection from ISA when I said something too right), but this time Mr. ~~Nazi~~ Nazri seriously makes me go "what the shit is in his brain?"

What's the issue? APCO wages only larh, not much, 77 million a year. How much is 77 million? I'll show you the number: RM77,000,000.00 only larh.

Want more numbers? Here you go:
> 1 year = RM77,000,000.00 (77 billion a year)
> 1 month = RM6,417,000.00 (6.4 billion a month)
> 1 day = RM211,000.00 (2 million a day)

We are spending years to get million, they get 2 million from Malaysia government a day (which is the money from the tax of you, me, your mom and dad, your brother and sister, your uncle and auntie, and everyone working around).

Not a small number, so we usually ask the person in charge that - why is it spending so much? Here's what Mr. ~~Nazi~~ Nazri said: "Najib get to meet Obama! They improve the image if Malaysia in the international stage! Do you think that these are free?"

So what? Does it mean that we can have a better salary? We can have lower tax? America will protect us from snatch thief? America will shoot the racist that never talk sh*t (x3)?

NO!

So what we get is just - Najib speaks with Obama. End of the story, price - 77 billion, paid by Malaysia tax payers.

Improving Malaysia Image
This is even more laughable. The image of a country is not just talking about how many clown you hired to tell the whole world "Oh yeah Malaysia is damn nice!", is the country itself proving to the whole world that Malaysia Boleh!

If you want America investors to come to the country, then screw the you-know-what policy that earned nothing but making you-know-who richer.

Project Alpha: No Strings Attached

Title for this week is kinda hard, seriously.

Of course, the string meant by Project Alpha couldn't be the string above. It actually mean wires. And it is not those phone wires that hanging around on the road, is those wire that connected to your computer.

You know, in the world that everyone is talking about wireless - wireless mouse, wireless earphone, wireless keyboard, wireless speaker, wireless this, wireless that, and my computer is still attached with tons of it:
Which makes me goes (-_-) when I'm trying to move my laptop from one place to another. Due to this, I named my laptop with another wonderful name: "Portable Desktop" - which I don't usually move my laptop when it is really needed.

Yet another string of the death is is the power cable, especially when you are having an open laptop test:

The strings of wires makes the ground into some RPG spider queen nest and you could just trip to death by just walking around. But that can't be avoided since laptop batteries die off pretty quickly if you use it frequently (mine was officially died).

But that's not the worst part, the most irritating part is an internet connection that requires a wire (LAN cable). Well just imagine lots of computer (e.g. cyber cafe) that requires lots of internet connection:

Well the power cable can't be avoided, but the LAN cable (especially when you are sharing internet with a router) could be avoided if you have the right stuff:

Just plug and use, no string of wires required!

Project Alpha: My Favourite Sport

Another week for instant cash blogging! Awwwh I'm getting really in love with this (who don't love money please raise up your hand)~

Anyway, this week is talking about my favourite sport.

Yeah... Don't stare at me like that, I may not look like a sport type of person but I do play sports (well, actually there's one sport I play, the only one) - which is:

Tardaa, badminton!
For me, playing badminton is like playing chess, we do predictions and we you use strategies. Let's see, we usually predict where the opposite player will hit the ball to, and hit to the place where opposite player can't save.

Well I'm not that much of a professional compared to the people around me, but the thing I did enjoyed the most is faking a smash. Most people that played with me before normally will get "%^&@!%#" with me because I get them running a lot, lol~

Now that reminds me, I haven't been touching the shuttlecock for quite some time! Blame that to the expensive badminton courts around (especially those that shoot up their price during holiday), and the busy time schedule everyone having *sigh*.

Oh, when you get stinky after a game, remember to get the right product to clear up your stinks, sometime bathing don't fully do the job (especially guys, they still sweat after bathing sometime - -).

Amazing Parker

Sometime I'm really amazed by how Malaysia government train us to park our cars (due to lack of thinking before developing). We usually do double parking, triple parking, but hardly cooperate together to make a slot for 3 cars park for 4 cars.

Now back to the ~~twinkle twinkle little~~ star story. Actually it is damn easy to join the fun, just produce a 60 seconds video and tell why you should be on Project Alpha (the details are here).

What can a star get? Well, money, fame, crazy traffic to your blog, fans, nice house, nice car, own island, own brand, own country, global domination... Uhh, guess I'm going too far.

Now I'm asking myself: "Wanna be a star?", "Of course!" I answered, mentally and illusionary walking on the prize giving stage (mind going mad). Then a big splash of water fell from the sky, pulling me back to the reality, facing my assignments, exams, and project.

Arghh! I just don't have time for that!

Project Alpha: No Sweat

Remember in earlier post I said that when you stink, you stink? Especially in the crazy hot weather that drawing 2012 nearer, and apart from the hot weather, sometime you even need to walk along with heavy smelling people as the by-product from the hot weather.

Which is driving everyone insane!
Well one of the solution was applying perfume to cover up the stinks. But think about it, not everyone likes perfume! I'm one of the people that takes heavy smelling perfume as something way worse than heavy smelling body odour.

Well another way is applying deodorant to cut off the stinks. However, it seems that Adidas is going deep into this, releasing its Action 3 package:

Well there's a few variation from the sweat-breaking-package: 'Intensive', 'Control', 'Sensitive', 'Fresh', 'Pure', and 'Pro-Level'. Each have their own specifications (such as 'Sensitive' for sensitive skin, 'Intensive' for the heavy user, 'Fresh' for light user, and the rest you could guess from their naming larh!

Maybe I'll get a bottle after Project Alpha cashing me some instant money ^^~ Not saying that I stink, but isn't it better to smell good? Hahaha...

大学必修三式 - 扯，吹，炸

大学生活，多姿多彩，百花齐放，但小弟认为大都离不开这三式。

扯 - 指胡扯，瞎扯之意。在课业上，有时为了满足教授，明知答案只是需要 A ，但是却硬要把 BCDEF 一同扯进功课中。一般上都是 “有杀错，没放过” 这种心态惹的祸；再不然就是 “万一 A 不中，还有 BCDEF 顶一下” 这种买保险的做法。

吹 - 指吹牛，俗称吹水。等级上比扯高一段，因为扯最多绕着一个重点胡说八道；但吹却是无中生有。例子有：没开过的会议，可以吹一份会议报告出来；没读过的书，可以吹一份读后感出来；没看过的人，可以吹一份个人简介出来。无奇不有，大魔法师 David Coppefield 也自叹不如。

炸 - 指乱轰，乱炸。这算是最高级，也最危险的做法。通常在考试上或功课中，绞尽脑汁都扯不出一个字，吹不出一句话时，就只有乱炸了！这做法有点 “死前一搏” 的心态，有时可能死无全尸，有时却火凤凰重生，一鸣惊人。

呵呵，磨熟这三式，大学生活受用不浅哦！

StarCraft II Beta

After the long long wait, finally I get to play it! StarCraft II Beta is here! In my laptop!

Though I wish to wait until the official release, but having "operation CWAL" (operation can't-wait-any-longer) and ended up getting the beta installer and some beta launcher to test up the game.

The game is just as good as we expected, added with many micro controlling mechanism that helps us play better. Graphics are incinerating my graphic card, I'll need to drop all the texture and quality to minimum in order to play smoothly, else there is lagging like no tomorrow.

Enough talking, sharing some screen shots with you all :)

New Protoss Mothership, similar to old Arbiter, with the Cloaking Field and Recall, but with tons of life and damage, can only build one though.

The Terran have tons of changes, other than the old Marine, Ghost, Siege Tank, and Battlecruiser, everything else are changed. The building add-ons also have new functions.

What to say, StarCraft II is another big boom from Blizzard!

Project Alpha: My Favourite Surfing Spot

Wee, another week are here, time for another Project Alpha post~

Talking about surfing spot, normally we'll think of a cup of coffee while surfing, good environment, and a comfortable chair. Yeah, Starbucks definitely comes into my mind.

However, not all Starbucks are good, some are just too crowded, you can hardly find a place to sit. Usually I don't prefer Starbucks in malls, instead I'll go for those in shop lots, they usually have bigger place, lesser people, lesser noise, more comfortable.

Sometime just drinking coffee alone wasn't enough for my tummy. This is the time where I'll search for place with snack (cakes and snacks in Starbucks is way too much for me). Snack while surfing? Big Apple comes into my mind!

Good thing about doughnuts is that you can have them anytime, need not to worry about it getting cold and tasteless (like pizza). A box of six could lasts around an hour, adding with a cup of tea or something is just nice!

Well of course, no place beat my own room, with my own cheap coffee (as long as it is coffee lol), my own cheap snack from some nearby 7-11, turning on the air-cond, environment with silence and no disturbance.

The only bad thing is that I don't have internet connection there! Anyone willing to sponsor me some internet service? I'm not asking for a lot, just a P1 USB modem shown below is enough :P~

Well then, that makes my favourite and ideal surfing spot. I want internet connection in my room T_T!

Project Alpha: I Just Love Good Smelling People

To be honest, I'm kinda running out of things to write, but thanks to Project Alpha, which gives me a topic to write on weekly, and I'm getting some cash too! Isn't it sweet?

Well, talking about the topic of the week, good smelling people. Normally when we talk about smells on people, we normally think of this:

As the bad smell.

As the good smell.
Well, good smelling for me is more towards how I feel towards that person, that I could say "I can smell your from far when you coming."

I just love the good smelling of my mom:
No I'm saying that I like to go to my mom and sniff on her... I'm sure most of us have the experience of hugging in mother's warm arm when we are small. Yeah, the smell of caring and love if you ask me.

I just love the good smelling from good people:
Some said that good people emits some aura, like Buddha with lights behind them. But they also have good smell of their kindness and gentleness. Just like we all love to have food with good smell, we enjoy hang along with good people.

I just love the good smelling from my girlfriend:
Again, I'm not a sex maniac or anything! By nature, opposite gender normally have some attracting scent emitting from them, a scent that can't sense be themselves but the opposite gender. Some say that it is just shampoo or perfume, but I'll call it the scent of attraction, if you are single, or scent of love, if you are in love, lol.

Well, personalities can be interpreted as smells, chilli is the smell of anger, rose is the smell of love, vanilla is the smell of pureness, and so on...

But coming back to the reality:
When you stinks, you stink. But have no fear, as there's a saying that "there is no ugly woman, only lazy woman", and my version is "there is no stinky person, only noob who don't know Adidas".

Yeah you get it, when you stink with HongKong leg, body odour, time to act before everyone around you start to complain!

生日快乐，电脑对我说

我们常听到，一些人感慨说：“生日嘛，越大过就越没趣。”

以前或许有些不明白，毕竟小时候，有一个（有时两个）大大的生日蛋糕，有好多大盒小盒的礼物（小朋友的礼物容易送），还有好多人和你庆祝。热闹又开心的。

长大了，有时觉得是为了庆祝而庆祝；就好像餐厅有生日优待，唱 K 有特价，就跑去庆祝了。礼物，更是令人头疼，都不知道对方要什么才好，又怕买错，尴尬不已。到最后干脆帮忙 “分享” 蛋糕钱算了。

随着科技发达，就连口头一句 “生日快乐” 都被电子化了，很少是当着面前说了，而是透过脸书、短讯来表达。不是说对方没诚意，就只是有一点酸酸的感觉。不知最近有没有人感到呢？

有人说，生日嘛，爱人在身边一起过就最好不过了。呵呵，不知道呢？等明年吧~（又是等）

晚餐，妈说特别蒸了一个鸡腿给我。反而让我觉得，这鸡腿是我最期待的礼物…

生日快乐，电脑对我说。

CNY Special - 元宵和早来的生日

新年的最后一天，就用华语写写吧，不然觉得最近部落好像有点不够 “华” 气，呵呵呵~

话说回来，新年的最后一天，就是元宵咯！本来没什么搞做的，后来又说反正有节日，就大吃一顿吧！不然过了年，下一个节日有如远在他乡，遥遥无期啊。结果就东带一些中餐，西带一些西餐，又是中西合拼的一餐！

又话说回来，反正人多，我的生日又近，结果大姐就弄了一个蛋糕来给我吹咯~

没什么拍到照啦，连这几张都是别人拍后电邮给我的。很有效率吧？那要拜谢 iphone 的神技咯！不过那蛋糕真的好好吃，连饱饱的我也吃了两块~

就这样，一个简单又热闹的华人情人节，加上一个小小生日会，和感谢家人陪我度过的一个晚上。

CNY Special - Ka Chiak Ka Chiak

Taken when visiting some relative. The flowers are real, heard that it was imported straight from China. Expensive and doesn't last long, but its beauty lasts forever within the memories and the photos taken.

One dinner with very interesting combination, but who cares, it is all the same when it goes to your stomach!

Tomorrow is school day once again, guess I need to pack up my soul again. Next holiday would take some time, a really long time...

CNY Special - Old School Gathering

With Chinese New Year (CNY) approaching, more and more gatherings are hooking up! But today it start with this one first, afternoon karaoke singing with WeiYao, Foon, Zulynn, and dear~

Been digging out all the super ancient songs to sing in the later part of the session, seems that everyone sing until very high.

Then later part went for a dinner with more people joining together. TingWei finally get to see me and dear lorh.

Poor thing, imagine putting a Happy Tree Friend in the middle, it would be the worst horror in any of the Happy Tree Friend episode, hahaha... May this be a very phosphorous year to all of us! Huat ah!

Anyway, after making all the noise in the restaurant, we shifted to a nearby food court to make more noise (Terror larh we all).

The XiuMuiMui finally get united again with the Foon, enjoying the sweet time lorh.

The Thean brought us some beer with Japanese writing on it after his Langkawi trip (again). Though the bottle looks cool, but WeiYao say it tasted like Shandy while I say it tasted like fruit juice, lol...

CNY Special - Course Gathering

It is rare that my coursemates are able to gather together in a single gathering, as normally there will be surely someone fly the kite. Though there are still a few left outs, but I think everyone did a great job attending this reunion gathering!

After few rounds of eating, walking around and ka-chiak-ka-chiak around with everyone before having more rounds!

Thumbs up, seems like everyone is very satisfied!

After all the eating, it seems that everyone have their tire renewed into a bigger size; but none beat the lorry tire from MingYao! Mwakakakaka!
