Microsoft Surface

Have you ever imagined how a computer in the coming decades will look like? Hope these videos give you some idea about your future computer! (Well, not really future... This product was announced at the end of 2007, but we all know technologies are always delayed in Malaysia. Just look at iPhone.)

This little coffee table with a screen is currently around 5,000 to 10,000 USD. But do not panic, as we all know Microsoft products all have insane pricing when it is new to the market.

Here's another video giving you more detailed information about multi-touch and surface-interfacing. Basically you can say bye bye with your keyboard and your little mouse, things will be done with your hands on!

I just couldn't stop thinking of the possibilities:
- Imagine playing strategy game (Star Craft or Tiberium War) with this, controlling your whole army hands on with both hands on!
- Imagine playing a round of poker with this, well I'm sure you'll need some paper to cover your cards, but no more shuffling job!
- Imagine sharing photos and videos in your phone just by putting your phone on the surface, bye bye USB!
- Imagine paying your bills, sharing your bills by putting your credit cards on the surface, bye bye cashier!

For more information, visit Microsoft website and get the latest updates!

Well, Microsoft is definitely pissed off Apple for real.

2009 Earth Hour

Did you switch off your lights? Well I do! Glad that I'm able to take part in this global event, just to tell that: "We care about global warming!"

No lies!

Yes, off it! All of it!

My whole family participated in the event, it looks more like everyone was enjoying the one hour of darkness. We went so serious about it until we forget that we could actually turn on the lights when we wanted to search for something in the room.

Thank god I'm back to home, as I'm sure the hostel ain't turning these off in respond of the Earth Hour.

I'm so frigging sure of it.

---

Mother earth, hope you enjoyed this hour of rest. Switching off the lights are just a mere baby step from fighting global warming, but it is better than none.

The next step should be asking America signing the Kyoto Protocol, while the following steps should be complete shift of warfare funds (that burns money) to environmental funds! Ain't this make sense? Or at least, put those money on research of efficient energy such as nuclear fusion or solar power!

Let's work together, to show that we do care about what's happening to the earth! There won't be a future for mankind if we were to destroy our very own home in the first place.

Feng Shui Ruler

Well, it happens that my cousin brother-in-law is a Feng Shui consultant, and I was helping him to develop this Feng Shui Ruler program.

As its name sounds, a Feng Shui Ruler can be applied to furniture, windows, and doors to check for auspiciousness (aka checking for good/bad luck). A simple program that can help you to do decision when you picking your furniture or renovating your house, making sure you don't step into the land mine area (bad lucks).

How to use?
It's simple, just take the measurement of the length and width of your house furniture, windows, or doors and put them into the box. The program will then calculate that value and check its auspiciousness!

Does it really work?
Well it is up to you to believe it or not, you may check about a little history of the ruler. Or maybe, some little history of Feng Shui itself that, came from past 1000 years of ancient Chinese observation through astronomy, astrology, and even the knowledge of magnetic fields on how they actually influencing man. Who knows?

Take a try!
Click the link below for download.

So, to my fellow friends and coursemates, we often complain about the programming subject's uselessness, but think twice, it is we who don't appreciate the knowledge or just the knowledge being useless?

We all knows :)

Projects

I'm terribly sorry folks! Life has been terribly busy, assignments coming one after another, completely pushing me away from my blog!

Well, this is what has been keeping me busy.

Yes, I know the picture on the left looks like something else, don't tell me, or I'll photoshop your face into the middle *grins*.

The model are just part of it (although it is not done by me), this is what really eating my time for like one to two weeks.

Those formulas are not kidding, the worst part is when I was trying to understand what it is saying to determine that is it applicable into our project.

End up wasting my time, bah.

My group members.

Thank god we made through the presentation, even though there are tons of questionable things in the project remained unsolved.

---

Having some free time now, going to sing k later, then I'll go into deep frenzy of final exams that coming in April.

Wish me luck!

Immortality

We often faced death, from the paper, internet, or maybe people around us. We can't deny that there are times where we shouted "I don't want to die" in our heart. Yet we all know that time will runs out and we all going to die anyway.

We often troubled with the limited time we have. Sometimes we just can't stop wishing for more lifetime to complete more task while we are living. Immortality was a dream from ancient Egyptian to modern mankind.

I found these video in YouTube, that have some clue to some answers to the life and death question. Very interesting videos.

And here's the remaining part 2, part 3, part 4, and part 5.

P/S: The man talking behind, Professor Michio Kaku is one of the co-founder of String Theory, a famous theoretical physicist in the modern science.

Present for myself

Meet my new darling, Sony Ericsson K770i.

A birthday present I bought for myself, in celebration of moving one step older. Many thanks to my roommate, Eric for helping me to buy phone at his hometown for a lower price. Terima kasih banyak-banyak!

Why change phone? Because my old Sony Ericsson W850i:
  • With a 2-megapixel camera just can't give me satisfying pictures for my blog, cyber shot is desperately needed!
  • Has a bloody handsfree loves to disconnect with the old phone, they fight a lot. A hell lot.
  • I start to get broken sound from the walkman speaker.
  • The old bloody phone can't read Chinese words.
  • I see cracking all over the keypad.
  • The bloody 3G camera has died.
So what's going happen to my old phone?

Just kidding.

Going to give to my aunt since she always complain about her phone for being very difficult to use, also in thanking her in advance for treating me so many meals!

Say cheese darling~

I'm turning 22

A little surprise from my family. It was like blink of an eye since I celebrated my last birthday. Happiness and sadness came long the year, but still, forward we shall move.

As it was quite rare for my sister to come over on the Saturday night, so I guessed it was an early celebration for me. Thank you all for still remembering my birthday!

I went (-_-||) then I saw the cake, which shown above... Sis bought it, she say let me be childish for this cake, since I'm so old already.

Me and my cake!

I wish for...

The usual things that a 22 years old guy will wish for larh. Details will be a secret since people said it doesn't work if telling out.

To: laoma, laodou, sis, ahpak, ahliong, tkc, ykc, chaigim, chungwang, chaigim-kawans, ahyan, and all the little devils, thank you all for celebrating with me!
